A coalition of women’s, public health, labor, environmental health and consumer-rights groups started the Campaign for safe cosmetics in an effort to inform the public and compel cosmetics companies to phase out toxic ingredients. Their "Compact for Safe Cosmetics" signatories pledge "to remove toxic chemicals and replace them with safer alternatives in every market they serve." With over 600 companies on board, they are helping to propel conscientious companies into the mainstream and they've provided a first step in identifying manufacturer's one should consider decent. This issue of cosmetic safety is serious business and with their numerous scientific studies and reports, this site is bringing critical information to the masses.
